Do British people like the English accent in Newfoundland, Canada?
I’m talking about the British and Irish who came by sea across the North Atlantic seas to this lush, mountainous place called St. Johns, Newfoundland.
Where mountains and shining seas and the sounds of bagpipes and fiddles and delicious seafood and people having jamming kitchen parties and living in wooden shacks along the rocky cliffs of the Atlantic shore.
And the sailors on this new land continue to hymn to “God Save the Queen”.
The accent is very unique out there. Do British people like this?
Yes it is a great accent. I have met a couple of people from Newfoundland: one of my lecturers at university was from there – his accent confused us students at first, a strange mix of Scottish, Irish, English and American – we couldn’t place it at all. Secondly in Northern France I went to the preserved trench system at Beaumont Hammel and was shown round by one of the Newfoundland students there. And thirdly, just a few weeks ago, I overheard some people talking in Harlow, Essex that also had the distinct accent – they must have been Memorial University students.

You will not have to remove the entire valve. What you will need to do is buy slip couplings for each of the pipes leaking. Drain the water out of the valve then you will have to cut through the pipe to the leaking fittings tighten the adapters and use the slip couplings to reconnect the piping. Let us know how it turns out @Homelinepros Teflon tape may sluff off into the valve but will washout .The key is to tighten up those adapters and leave a few threads exposed as the copper adapters have tapered threads so you can over tighten forcing too much into the valve. Use the correct size wrench for the fitting as not to over torque.
